Every year there are marathons, half marathons, 10Ks, 5Ks, sponsored runs and fun runs where thousands of people take part and raise funds for the charity of their choice. We’d love it if you would like to hold an event in aid of the Linda Norgrove Foundation, it doesn’t have to be a run; in previous years we've had a garden opened to the public, a sponsored fire walk and a group of friends take on the Three Peaks Challenge, ascending and descending the highest mountains in England, Wales and Scotland in less than 24 hours!
Over the past year William ran the Boston Marathon, Hebridean Housing held a quiz night, Ylva went from couch to triathalon in four months, her first ever, and the annual Harris Tweed Rides in Glasgow and Edinburgh were held, all in support of the Foundation. In 2014 two guys ran an ultramarthon around Great Cumbrae, one man ran up the highest peak on every inhabited island of the Western Isles on Midsummer's day, a 72 year old cycled from Troon to Port of Ness at the north end of Lewis, a group of friends cycled coast to coast across the north of England, the Ceilidh Place in Ullapool donated all the income for Christmas day lunch, a female lawyer working at the British Embassy in Kabul spent a sponsored night in a snowhole. We would love to hear from you if you think you might like to assist us in raising vital funds. Everything you raise will go towards continuing our work which helps women and children affected by the war in Afghanistan.
If you would like to set up your own online fundraising page for the Foundation you can do so here through the Foundation's donation website.
If you already have a fundraising page created and you would like to include a link to it on the foundation's website or if we can help to promote your event, then please let us know by providing us with details using the contact form and we will publish it here for you.
